Norfolk Grief Tending is sharing an events platform with the Gathering Gates, a parent project and registered charity that is supporting us with some structures around finances and marketing. So some of the links below will include information about Gathering Gates events. We've also added links to workshops by partners in this region and further afield.

Norfolk Grief Tending Workshops

The Grief Tending workshops draw on a lineage pioneered by Sophy Banks and Jeremy Thres (see this page on their website for more). The lead workshop facilitators have gone through Sophy and Jeremy's Apprenticing to Grief programme, and they are supported by a team bringing a wealth of life experience and expertise to this work.

The Work That Reconnects

We have plans to offer The Work That Reconnects (sometimes known as Active Hope) based on the teachings of Joanna Macy and Chris Johnstone. These workshops have a more overt emphasis on naming and holding our pain for the world, and playing our part in the transformation of self, society and planet.

Enrichment Days

We're offering occasional Enrichment Days for those who are already facilitating or would like to step towards facilitating Grief Tending in Community and The Work That Reconnects/Active Hope. It is also for people who are generally interested in supporting this work in practical ways.

Climate Cafes and Active Hope

Norfolk and Waveney Mind are running a programme called 'sUStain' focused on support for eco-anxiety and climate grief. They offer Climate Cafes, and workshops on Mindfulness and Active Hope.

Grief Tending in Devon and Online

We highly recommend the Grief Tending events offered by Sophy and team - if you feel like going further afield, the face to face workshops are generally held in Devon. Sophy also offers online grief tending workshops.

Work That Reconnects Coming Soon

“To honor our grief, to grant it space and time in our frantic world, is to fulfill a covenant with soul — to welcome all that is, thereby granting room for our most authentic life.” ― Francis Weller
