workshops & GRIEF CEREMONIES

Grief Tending workshops draw on a lineage pioneered by Sophy Banks and Jeremy Thres (see this page on their website for more). The lead workshop facilitators have gone through Sophy and Jeremy's Apprenticing to Grief programme, and they are supported by a team bringing a wealth of life experience and expertise to this work.

APPRENTICING TO GRIEF

A 6-day immersive journey

3pm Tuesday 23rd to 3.30pm Sunday 28th July

We're excited to announce this upcoming residential workshop with Sophy Banks from Grief Tending in Community and Sarah Pletts from Embracing Grief plus support from local facilitators.

This 6-day immersive journey is for anyone who wants to deepen their relationship with grief and strengthen their capacity to hold grief spaces for others.

We'll be gathering at the Old Red Lion - a beautiful and quirky guest house and workshop space close to the River Nar in historic Castle Acre.

We will explore together:

  • the common stages on the journey of grief

  • different views of grief, and traditions about how to welcome it

  • facilitation, including questions of safety and ethics

  • the relationship between grief and trauma

  • the wider context of systems of harm and the times of disruption we are living in and impacted by.

Sophy and Sarah will share what they have learnt through many years of holding collective grief spaces.

Cost: sliding scale of between £650 to £990 (plus £180 single supplement if chosen). If this is unaffordable for you, please let us know and we will contact you to discuss.

Please ensure you've read the information on Sophy's website below before applying.
